While leading a certification training class in Johannesburg, South Africa and after a series of unbelievable events that have added up to the most complex and challenging trip ever… I found an immense amount of solace in the opportunity to visit Glen Afric and spend the afternoon with wild elephants. They are such majestic creatures.
During the class, we were writing user stories which is a great way of capturing desired features from the customer’s perspective in the format “As a who, I need what, so that why. Each of the students wrote a user story within the context of a traveler (me) who had flown to South Africa for work and only had ½ a day before heading to the airport to do anything of real leisure and I asked, given the time constraints, what one would do for fun. After around 20 great submissions, the winning user story was to visit Glen Afric and walk with elephants. It was definitely a great choice!
