While Agile has been becoming overly complicated over the last several years, it is time to get back to the essentials at the Heart of Agile to collaborate, deliver, reflect, and improve. In this keynote at the Scrum Day Portugal 2017 Event, Alistair Cockburn, co-author of the Agile Manifesto, and Maria Matarelli, co-founder of the Agile Marketing Academy, will share specific insights for how businesses can get back to real results and reach more customers through Marketing in the Heart of Agile.
I had the privilege of training with Joe Justice on a Scrum in Hardware CSM training class as well as leading an Agile Marketing training class for Team WIKISPEED. It was an incredible week exploring Agile applied outside IT in many capacities!

As we begin 2016, I am reminded of how important it is to start the year off with a clear plan on how you intend to actualize your goals. We started with a strategic planning session with my team. We retrospected on 2015 and what went well, not so well, and what should be done differently. We then put together a plan for achieving our goals in 2016. Personally, professionally, and otherwise, success comes after hard work, consistent planning, and serious accountability to yourself as well as others.
With January having nearly come and gone, it is time to evaluate what major initiatives are happening this year, and how on track you are to making things happen. When you break your yearly goals down into quarterly goals, monthly goals, and weekly goals, now you have a plan for how to achieve them and you can track to them.
With Agile approaches to business, no matter what industry you may be in, know that there are ways to create even more consistency in daily endeavors that deliver great results within your company. Learning how to streamline your workflow, shifting to being results focused, and most importantly, inspiring those around you to do the same–these are all invaluable components of a highly functioning team and organization. These are the components of success!
I’ve started to see this year begin to fill up fast! With speaking events, training classes, and a lot of exciting new things on the horizon, there are countless ways we continue to discover how to help others build a more Agile workspace and world overall.
